Cohort Opportunities
We’re better together! In the next season of the Northwest, we’re committed to providing opportunities for you to cultivate rich, authentic relationships with other Foursquare ministers and leaders. We also want to provide environments that help you grow your skills, learn more about yourself, and be better equipped to navigate the unique and current landscape of the Church.
All the cohort, relational and learning opportunities listed below have been experienced by members of our team or are led by Regional and Area Pastors in the Northwest.
Opportunities for all Leaders
>Emotionally Healthy Leader Cohort
Led by Foursquare Pastor and Certified Coach Trey Abney
The EHL Cohort is a 10-week cohort for leaders looking to dive into Peter Scazzero’s bestselling Emotionally Healthy Leader in a group learning environment. This cohort facilitates growth in the areas of emotional health, spiritual maturity and ministry leadership.

>Full Strength Network
Full Strength Network is a non-profit organization that exists to help ministry leaders discover full strength in well-being in areas like richer spiritual health, deeper relationships, and increased leadership capacity. Designed as a subscription-based service, Full Strength offers professional counseling services, individual and group coaching, and a variety of practical resources for spiritual and mental health for ministry leaders.

>YOUnique
YOUnique starts with a two-day intensive retreat, followed by an 8-week cohort meeting. YOUnique is open to all people and is highly recommended for assisting ministers, young leaders, and those considering what God might have next for them. More info to come!

>Foursquare Cause Networks
Foursquare Cause Networks, previously known as Affinity Networks, are open, informal, and dynamic groups of people that connect around specific missional activities in spheres or sectors of society where the gospel is greatly needed. These networks provide a pathway for more and growing leaders who share particular passions and perspectives for the issues of our day to be on a mission together in a space for connection, resourcing, training, and support. Current Cause Networks include:

Opportunities for Lead Pastors
>New Lead Pastor Cohort
The NEW LEAD PASTOR COHORT exists to support and develop new lead pastors in the Northwest District. Cohort monthly meetings include training by an expert on 10 key topics, breakout time in a coach-led small group, and flex time for further dialogue. Two monthly meetings happen in-person, including our Fall Leader Conference and a retreat. Each topic will be accompanied with additional resources for training and engagement (books, podcasts, videos, growth opportunities). New Lead Pastors can join the cohort at any time, and the topics will follow a regular annual calendar. All new lead pastors, spouses and co-pastors are invited and encouraged to attend.
August 2023-June 2024
>Missions in the Church: Theology + Practice
This Sr. Pastor cohort is designed to discover and establish a solid understanding of the mission of God with veteran Bible teacher Steve Schell and his wife Mary that helped Northwest Church establish missions for their 28 years in Federal Way. Kaj Martin, our Missions Mobilizer, will help facilitate these 90-minute sessions online. It will cover the “why” and “how” of missions that should be present in every local Foursquare church. If the Sr. Pastor is signed up they can sponsor their Missions Director into the class.
Eight Week Cohort begins January 25th, 2024 on Thursday nights at 6 pm PST.
Opportunities for Women Only
>Immersion Women
Led by Pastor Kari Bulman
This is for women who serve in any Christian leadership capacity. The Immersion Women Cohort provides the opportunity to connect with other female leaders, gain wisdom, and engage the unique purpose God has for your life. The cohort is an 8 month process that runs from September to April. This includes monthly zoom classes, monthly life coaching sessions, mentoring opportunities, counseling opportunities, and an in-person gathering at the end of the cohort in April. The cost is $1,000 per person.

>Empowered WIML Cohort
Led by Stacey Schaub
The Empowered WIML cohort exists to see female leaders connected in a relational learning environment so that they are empowered to Live, Love and Lead in their individual contexts (Luke 24:49). This 8-month process includes 7 monthly zoom calls on the second Thursday of every month (calls are recorded for later viewing, if needed). Then each participant will join a zoom call with a trained coach and one other participant for personal application and development. The cohort culminates with a summit at Cannon Beach Conference Center in May 13-15, 2024. The cost for the summit is included in the registration. Total cost: $850.

>Cultivate: Women in Ministry Leadership Cohort
Led by Foursquare Pastor and LPU-Virgina President Gretchen Abney
Cultivate is a 7-month cohort experience where participants develop core leadership competencies, strengthen their ministry call, and create a community of holistic development. The purpose of Cultivate is to coach and connect women leaders within a relational learning environment.
Starts February 1, 2024
Opportunities for Men Only

Led by Pastor Joe Bulman
The Immersion Men’s Cohort provides the opportunity to connect with other male leaders, gain wisdom, and engage the unique purpose God has for your life. The cost is $850.

Build is a 7-month cohort experience where participants develop core leadership competencies, strengthen their ministry call, and create a community of holistic development. The purpose of Build is to coach and connect men leaders within a relational learning environment.
Spring 2024
Opportunities for Young Adults
>Immersion Young Adults
Led by Pastor Kari Bulman
The Immersion Young Adults’ Cohort is for those who feel God’s call to be a leader but aren’t sure what their next steps are. In Immersion, you can engage the unique purpose God has for your life and connect with other Young Adults who are pursuing the same thing.
This cohort is for young adults between the ages of 18-26. (Please note that applicants must be high school graduates.)
